Shipping and Packaging

We are proud to have our base in Zambia's beautiful Luangwa Valley. This magical wilderness is a superb safari destination, but is very remote and miles from anywhere! All the textiles that we sell on this site are hand-made at our workshop in Zambia, and shipped to you directly from here. Since we are in a very remote part of the world we recommend you allow 14 days for the safe arrival of your parcel.

We have worked hard with EMS - a reliable and long-established courier company in Zambia - to keep the shipping costs as low as possible. Also, it's worth highlighting that a portion of these costs will go directly towards supporting the children in the local orphanage, Hanada. We have teamed up with Hanada to create the bags we use to wrap your online purchases, thus providing the ladies who run the orphanage with a sustainable source of income.

Nevertheless, shipping from Zambia is expensive and if you prefer, you can visit the stockists page on our website to see if there is a stockist near you who has the item you want as it may be less expensive to order through them. 

Further down this page, there is a table which shows how the shipping costs are calculated based on the weight of your order, including some examples to give you an idea of what quantity of textiles falls into each shipping band. Customers with orders weighing over 10kg will need to contact us for a quote.
 

Other details that you need to keep in mind:

  • All orders will be dispatched to the delivery address that you supply within 5 working days of receipt. We work with an internationally recognised courier EMS (http://www.zampost.com.zm/ems.html) who offer an online tracking service for all parcels through the IPS Web tracking system (http://www.zampost.com.zm/tracking.html and http://41.77.150.133/webtracker/).
  • Some countries have customs entry charges, duties and/or taxes, depending on the value of the purchases. By placing an order with us you agree to pay these charges. Shipments that are refused will be abandoned and customers will not be eligible for a refund. We have found that the majority of orders we have shipped through EMS have not been subject to customs inspections or incurred customs charges but this cannot be guaranteed.
  • We are not responsible for any delay in delivery caused by the unavailability of someone to take delivery. It is your responsibility to contact the courier company as applicable to arrange the collection or delivery of products that could not be delivered because you were unavailable.
